In this article, we would like to introduce you to the Statistical Accounts feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 wave 1 (BC22).
Using Statistical Accounts and Statistical Accounting, you can record basic statistical metrics separately from general ledger accounting, which can be combined with data from financial accounting to create statistical statements. Statistical data can be, for example, the number of employees or the office space used by each business unit.
Periodic data on the Statistical accounts can be recorded in the statistical journals in a similar way to the general journals, except that they do not have to be recorded according to the double-entry bookkeeping rules.
The Statistical accounts are accompanied by detailed analytics and the possibility to follow the balance of the accounts on a periodic basis.

Microsoft Business Central's Financial Reporting framework has been enhanced to integrate data from statistical accounts, so that in addition to current accounting data, statistical accounts can also be included in the statements.
As an example using the Statistical Accounts function, you can dynamically display, revenues or costs based on the number of employees, broken down by period.
