Project Background
Flottaman Zrt. has been active in the vehicle fleet management and financing market since 2009. In addition, it is involved in equipment leasing and provides brand-independent consultancy services. The company is 100% Hungarian-owned, and its employees have 25 years of experience in vehicle trading and fleet management. The business is recognized by both Hungarian vehicle importers and vehicle financing institutions.
In 2019, Flottaman Zrt. was among the first to implement version 14 of Microsoft Business Central, which was the first Hungarian release of Microsoft’s ERP solution previously known as Dynamics NAV or Navision.
During the 2019 implementation, the base system was extended with several custom industry-specific features:
-
Integration with the front-office system supporting leasing functions
-
Management of compensations
-
Support for reclassification between inventories and fixed assets
-
Handling of custom financial accruals
The originally implemented ERP solution was hosted on a rented Azure server, which required separate IT administration for maintenance. Without this, updating to new versions became cumbersome.
In 2023, the company’s owners decided to replace the on-premises ERP system with a modern cloud-based version that provides automatic updates, making the system supporting their business operations more sustainable. The version upgrade included not only the base system but also the replacement of the localization solution ensuring compliance with Hungarian legislation, with one offering broader functionality.
The project’s goal was to upgrade from Microsoft Business Central version 14, including a migration to the cloud while ensuring a smooth transition of all historical data, custom developments from the initial implementation, and integration with specialized systems.
The decision-makers entrusted Since Flottaman Zrt.’s Business Central users were already familiar with the ERP system’s interface and business logic, the transition was quick and seamless, to the satisfaction of both the client and the provider.
